two second update

for those of you who don't read pathogen's journal, my weekend was somewhat marred late saturday night when pathogen and zapevaj's apartment was broken into while we were out at neo. my backpack with my powerbook, DJ headphones, master's diploma, airport express, dvd/cd case and various personal items was stolen, and my purse was emptied and my wallet, ipod, and a palm pilot wsmith had lent me were all taken, as was a pair of antique salt spoons my mom had recently bought me. i've still got my cell phone, driver's license and one bank card. we got back around 4am to see that the place had basically been ransacked -- my clothes were all over the floor instead of inside my suitcase, the contents of my purse were spread over the futon, etc. pathogen and rae also had a laptop and ipod stolen. we were up till about 6:30am giving the police a report and waiting for the crime scene dude to dust for fingerprints (ok, that part was kinda cool).

anyhow, the whole birthday thing was a bit upstaged -- i had about four hours of sleep, followed by a long plane ride back to SF, and was not a happy camper yesterday. special apologies to mechagojira and childewolf for bailing at the last minute, but i was in no shape to be celebratory :(. apologies to latemodel, too, for having a grumpy girlfriend.

i'm still going to burning man, and now i have a crazy two days to finish getting everything ready, deal with all my lost stuff, etc. so sorry if i'm a bit scattered/unavailable -- i'll be back next monday and will be able to get more organized then.

up till sunday morning, i had a fabulous fabulous weekend, including going out to dinner with my parents and cousins, spending time with amadea, doing shopping and hair with zapevaj and going out saturday night with many wonderful friends. oh, and tankthemuppet made me the bestest pair of furry purple zebra-striped chaps ever -- can't wait to wear them on the playa!
